I kind of like that-- it's so understandable.

I kind of hate that-- it's so nonfunctional.

i like/dislike it also
Assuming that pity (sympathy? compassion?) should be directed everywhere, where should the anger be directed.

Of course i should beg; but should i get angry at every person who refuses to play Good Samaritan to my wounded traveler. That is one of my big problems with Bloy that i am trying to figure out. How does diffused pity, which may do some good, get translated into specific anger which will do dome harm. Hey, i do it too, I sympathize with "the poor;" i dislike the Koch brothers.

Re: Poor v. Koch brothers
If by "you" you mean my better Self. i would be more sensitive to people as individuals (as well as "images" of the divine) and more detached from and compassionate toward individual targets of my accusations.

Re: Poor v. Koch brothers
I have no better self at all, and I would always prefer to be The Poor. And so I feel some compassion for the Kochs.

Yes! If everybody tried to be poor, we would all be okay.

The form taken.

Desert fathers and mothers, okay.
Catholic Worker Movement, okay.
Voluntary Simplicity, okay.

Leon Bloy, meh.

I was thinking more in terms of the actions.

Universal poverty through lack of industry, not so wonderful. Universal poverty because of investment in other humans present and future, in the soil and biomes, excellent. Universal poverty because of restraint in exploitation of the biomes, excellent.

Re: Poor v. Koch brothers
But mostly I was trying to say, "If the Kochs seem horrible to you, surely they deserve compassion for having made themselves monsters?"
