My Brother Carl.

My youngest brother died this week.  I know no details.  He had just turned 78.  He was an elementary school teacher, a good one, with a deep love for his students.  He left his wife, Charlene and two adopted children and several grandchildren.  He was one of the really good guys and i wish i had known him better.  I am missing him and wish i could grieve for him properly.  Now there are me and my sister (Carl's twin).

I am sorry for your loss, and that of your brother's wife and children and grandchildren, and the world.

Was he an elementary school teacher his whole adult life?

Thank you.
From his mid twenties until he retired, abour 40 years i think.
He never wanted to do anything but teach (and fish).

Wow, Teaching children is so hard-- and the requirements and blames or teachers have been accumulating so horribly for the past 35 years or so-- that that's an unusual career trajectory.

It seems to me that there are rather striking similarities between teaching and fishing....
