Gandhi is, has been since i heard of him as child when he was still  living, and always will be, a hero to me.

But a sadness comes over me when i realize that his actions were gender biased and thus possibly reflected a "Unity" in which there was a graded system (1. God, 2. Males. and 3. Females.)  He used females to test the purity and chastity of males, and the females paid the consequences if the males failed the test.

All of the so called "great" religions: Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, etc., emerged within social systems which were hierarchical and patriarchal.  Even those who best expressed their religion at its finest could not escape the gender bias inherent in patriarchal society, and also in hierarchical society.

Because i have lived all my life in a patriarchal, hierarchical society, i know that i am sexist whether i think i am or not,  In every action i take in relation  to my fellow gendered beings, i must be mindful of that condition..
