I find you, Lord, in all Things and in all
my fellow creatures, pulsing with your life;
as a tiny seed you sleep in what is small
and in the vast you vastly yield yourself.

The wondrous game that power plays with Things
is to move in such submission through the world:
groping in roots and growing thick in trunks
and in treetops like a rising from the dead

I think i was thrown off by the word "power"  Power plays and power games don't thrill me at any time, let alone in sacred poetry.  But this is not Max Weber's power or even the softer power of the social psychologist.  It is spiritual power.  It is the power aborigines think of when they say a medicine has power.  Power is for giving, for healing, for sharing, for loving.

Power is not force or domination,
just as awe is not to frighten
and love is not sex.

(Sex and fear may be appropriate under certain circumstances.
domination? Never.)

The power referred to here is Taoist power,
power through submission; power as submission.
