The Abundance of Brightness

by Dorothy Walters

God is not unknown on account of obscurity

          -- St. Thomas Aquinas

1.

of the startled pilgrims, blinded
by the flare of torches sweeping
from frames of darkness.
Then silence. Then they saw.....
       ..................................................
