Maybe I Should Think Of Myself As A Spiritual Being Who Is Trying To Become Human?

"It is in our humanity that we are still so wounded, so needy, so unloving, so self-hating, and so in need of enlightenment.  We seem to have spawned centuries of people trying to be spiritual and religious, whereas our record on basic humanness is rather pitiful." -- Richard Rohr, The Naked Now: Learning to See as the Mystics See  p.69

Books Near Your Fingertips.

bardcat posted this morning about the books on his nightstand.  He asked his friends to name the books on their nightstand.  He is getting interesting responses.  I thought it would be nice to see what my friends are reading.  This might also (EGO ALERT)   let me see who is reading my journal.

Here is the list i shared with bardcat
Lame Deer: Seeker of Visions by Joh (Fire) Lame Deer and Richard Erdoes.
The Naked Now: Learning to See as the Mystics See, by Richard Rohr
Blake Complete Writings, edited by Geoffrey Keynes
Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life by Karen Armstrong
The Tao Te Ching tramslated by Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English
There is barely enough room on my nightstand for my humidifier and my CPAP.  But these are the books i am reading now or (Lame Deer) just finished reading.

What's on your recent reading list?  Let me know.
(Note to jblindsightrowanryder, and bardcat:  Thank you much for sharing your lists)
