The Failed States Index 2011 by The Fund for Peace

Finland is the most stable and sustainable state with Norway dropping to number two  Somalia is still the most
endangered state with a barely improved "failed state" score over 2009.  Generally, in my opinion, things look bad for the World's states and therefore (sadly) for the world.

The United States continues to have a moderately sustainable and stable state.  In fact, it's "failed state" score slightly improved since 2009.  But on the index of "Uneven Development" (a rough measure of inequality) its score is higher (i.e. worse).
