Writer's Block: International Skeptics Day

What are you skeptical about? (religion, ghosts, Toddlers and Tiaras, etc.)
Skepticism is part of my nature and part of my training.  I live in a world that is made up mostly of other peoples' illusions.  I do not trust that their perception of reality is accurate, or even in the ball park.  So i cannot trust that my perceptions are accurate either.  Everything must be taken "with a grain of salt." or. in my case, with an ocean of it.  Toddlers and Tiaras is just plain sick, the other stuff (religion, ghosts, etc.) is too iffy to be taken as reality.  Unfortunately, things don't have to be real to have real consequences, religious beliefs can cause a lot of pain, and pain is something i can take as real.  If i believe that my God requires me to kill you. this can have real consequences for both of us.,

The tulip mania in (later) Holland in 1636-7 is an example of the need for skepticism.  Fortunately, this mania lasted only six months, some last for decades, centuries, or  millennia.  We are buying an incredible number of lies at this moment.  We couldn't be buying so many unless we were also selling quite a few.
