Rabindranath Tagore: Accept me, my lord, accept me for this while
I read Tagore in my youth. He died when I was eight, but I thought of him as a living poet. I know I couldn't have been reading him then, (although he was composing poetry at that age) but it could not have been much later. In the liberal Methodist Churches I attended, as a teen and young adult his name was mentioned frequently with near reverence. I can' t remember what I thought of his poetry, but I never returned to him till now.
There are twelve poems at this site. this is one of my two or three favorite, but all are worth reading.
