Summary: part III

SPIRITUALITY: The purpose of this journal was to examine, guide and increase my spirituality.. I think I suspected at the beginning that words could not guide me into stillness. Yet the finger pointing at the moon may be of use to a child who knows not where or what the moon is. Words about silence, meditation, Love, Unity. No-thing-ness, unknowing have strengthened my appreciation of those concepts and are helping get beyond the concepts. Tao te Ching and The Cloud of Unknowing continue to be most useful, but I have broadened my reading to include the following:; David A. Cooper, The Heart of Stillness; Sue Monk Kidd, When the Heart Waits; Eknath Easwaran, God makes the river to flow; and Philip St, Romain, Here, now, in love. Other writers, especially Eckhart Tolle, are on a reread list as I become better able to maintain the attitufude required for meditation.

I have started to pray.

I have increased my contemplation although it is not yet by any means regular or even frequent. I find twenty minutes of silence easy where I once found it impossible.

I have made the acquaintance of people with an interest in meditation and an intention to grow in their meditation. A community calledcontemplatives has been formed. I pray for its success and usefulness.

I'm glad I've kept this journal. Right now I can't say much more than that. Love, peace, and joy to all.
